From chaos comes order

House renovation:

A young couple who were relocating from England to Cardiff in Wales and who were expecting their first baby, needed to adapt their newly purchased house quickly and to a tight budget.

The husband was changing his job and wanted to do the bulk of the work himself between jobs, and so a design that was able to be constructed simply and quickly was the premise of the brief!

Our clients wanted to remove an unsightly, and useless, rear conservatory and adapt the interior to form a large family room. They also wanted to convert and extend the loft to create a master bedroom suite.

In addition to these works, the husband wanted a sound-proofed man-den at the bottom of the garden.

Work is currently ongoing, with the family room almost complete. Understandably, most architects want to wait until coffee-table photos can be shown, but in reality, particularly with projects where the newly born child has arrived amidst all sorts of other chaos, it’s not always possible! But here at Stephen Waldron Architects – we don’t mind at all!

The client said:

We had a really excellent service from Stephen and his team for our full house renovation……. I can’t recommend Stephen enough. We loved his green credentials and passion. He is completely professional and we owe our fantastic living arrangements here in Cardiff to him. We are going to enjoy this house for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much.
